The Honda 13622-PR3-000 is the OEM Timing Belt Guide Plate (also called a crankshaft timing belt guide or timing belt guide washer). It is a small but very important component on Honda B-series DOHC engines.

What it does:

The guide plate mounts on the crankshaft, directly behind or in front of the timing belt crank sprocket (depending on engine/version). Its job is to:

• Keep the timing belt centered on the crankshaft sprocket.
• Prevent the timing belt from “walking” sideways at high RPM.
• Reduce the chance of the timing belt riding off the edge of the sprocket.
• Protect against catastrophic engine damage caused by belt misalignment or belt derailment. 

Why it’s important:

Although it only costs around $8–10 USD, it can prevent thousands of dollars in engine damage.

If the guide is:

• bent,
• installed backwards,
• missing, or
• excessively worn,

the timing belt can move sideways, causing incorrect valve timing or, in severe cases, allowing the belt to skip teeth. On Honda interference engines, this can result in bent valves.
